Question

I got a notice that I am entitled to funds from my biological father. I was adopted at birth but in his will he out his children. I have contact with the family and had with him. This is all happening in Oklahoma and I reside in Illinois. Do I need to be there for the reading of will or need a representative? Or do nothing

Answer

Contact a probate attorney in the county where your biological father resided. It may be that all you need is someone to monitor the situation and it is best to have that in place just in case.

Answer

Who sent you the notice? If you received a legal notice (from an attorney representing the estate or from the administrator or executor) you should follow up with the sender of the notice.
