What would cause a 98 sts shut down compeltely in regard to electric system?

What would cause a 98 sts shut down compeltely in regard to electric system?
MAP Sensor. Had it happen to my 2001. Would crank back up then run for a few seconds then just shut off. Also try cadillacforums.com. Its a great source of info.
