If non custodial parent goes to prison for life does the child support obligation just stop? Is there no continued support for the child? Child is in one state and the father is incarcerated in another state.
Answer
The child support continues to accrue even while he is in jail. However, unless he has an income which he will continue to receive while in jail, no payments will be made.
