How do you replace a Sport trac rear window motor?
How to replace the rear window motor on a 2001 Sport Trac:1. fold down the rear seats.2. flip up and remove the spring-loaded hinge on the cargo platform by removing the philips-headed screws.3. remove the plastic fasteners for the rear plastic body panel.4. pry the plastic rear body panel from the tabs at the top (left and right).5. remove the two plastic felt fasteners.6. peel down the motor cover located behind the rear right seat.7. remove the 3 torx bolts on the motor.8. using a large screwdriver or small pry bar, pry the motor away from the cable spool, leaving the spool intact on its mount.9. unplug the motor and remove.10. using a screwdriver, rotate the spool to give it some play (the window should move some).11. put a dab of grease on the motor hub.12. install the new motor by aligning the hub splines and rotating the motor into position. tighten the torx bolts.13. Reassemble everything.14. Initialize the new motor: open door, turn key to 'on', push rear window button 6 times, turn key to 'off', push rear window button 6 times, turn button right until window closes all the way, turn button left until window opens all the way.
