Question

My wife's father has usefruct only of a house and property that belong to my wife and her sister. He refuses to pay the property taxes, homeowners insurance and maintain the property. Is this sufficient grounds to have his usefruct revoked?

Answer

Probably. The law is clear that your father-in-law is obligated to pay those expenses. If he fails to do so, he can be removed from office.
