ok i have gotten a million wonderful answers from you wonderful people...here another question how do you find the track record of a habeas attorney...i want to look at the successes and ill take leads.

I would look on the State Bar of California website (calbar.ca.gov) and look up some Certified Appellate Law Specialists (LawGuru's own Ed Hoffman is among them and might be able to give you a referral to someone experienced in criminal habeas petitions). You could also look up the California Appellate Project.
