When is it legal to pass on the right while driving?

When is it legal to pass on the right while driving?
Well, that's a pretty broad question. I'll try to answer it as best I can. Consult your local laws first please! You can USUALLY pass on the right anytime there's a LEGAL, OPEN lane on the right. NOT the shoulder, or a grass strip, or anything like that.

To add it also depends on the highway you are traveling on. Some have prominant signs posted reading, "No passing on right". Rarely is this law enforced if you do it with care. But it can be enforced.

Let us not forget that many countries drive on the left and it is normal to pass on the right.
