Why don't they use granite to make cars?
Interesting question here is your answer, granite is a rock, in order to make a car as we know it from granite a massive block would have to be hollowed out, then other parts would have to be crafted from other large pieces and somehow assembled. Granite is extremely heavy and is not found in large enough quantities to produce enough cars for the worlds demand, in addition granite shatters easily upon impact especially when cold. Sheet metal is light, malleable ( aka formable ) and bends with impact and most important readily available at a very low cost, plus car companies know at some point the car will rust out and will need to be replaced with another.
