Question

I have received divorce papers but the attorney that sent them has many mispellings and most important the street name of the house. She insists this does not matter and I should sign anyway. Will signing the papers with misspelled street cause the divorce to be void?

Answer

By "papers," do you mean the DECREE?

Don't sign it if it isn't right. Take a black pen and make the changes, and initial them. THEN sign it (if you agree to the terms).

Shame on a lawyer who can't even spell, and who doesn't proofread.
