Question

I was injured during a hazing -termed motivation- while in the police academy. I now have a WC claim. Does it make a difference if WC lawyer reference how the injury was incurred as a physical training injury versus a hazing injury? If so, does the liability differ? Fyi...in the academy there is a difference in motivation (hazing) and physical training

Answer

The only issue is whether it occurred during the course of your employment. While I am concerned regarding any sort of hazing or horseplay that might of occurred, you really need to talk with a Certified Workers' Compensation Attorney like the ones we have here at Levinson Axelrod. Feel free to call me for a free consultation at (908) 359-0110. Best, Todd Wachtel, Esq.
