My mother passed away in 2006 with no will. There are nine living children. One Sister wants to buy the others out and keep the property in the family as a vacation spot for all. What should I do to have this done?
Answer
Your mothers succession will have to be opened, and the children recognized as the legal owners. Once that is done, you can do a buyout, in which your sister buys out the shares of the others.
Answer
Open the successoin of your mother, and partitition the property withing the succession, and the 8 other heirs will received thier 1/8th interest in the proceeds
