Is it legal for a corporation to grant a private contract to another company or an individual without a public bid?

Question

Is it legal for a corporation to grant a private contract to another company or an individual without a public bid?

Answer

As a Franchise Attorney I can say this. There is no law that requires a corporation to submit private contacts to a public bid. Were this the case, it would be incredibly difficult for commerce to proceed. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
