While driving your 93 spirit 2.5lt the throttle stuck on you you had to pull the vacuum hose off the air breather to bring it back to normal idle what would cause this problem?

While driving your 93 spirit 2.5lt the throttle stuck on you you had to pull the vacuum hose off the air breather to bring it back to normal idle what would cause this problem?
is the throttle , cable or linkage operated?if linkage, then lubricate all parts. make sure the carpet etc inside car is not catching on pedal. if cable, you will need to disconnect cable to lubricate it.or replace cable. also check all springs on carburettor to make sure none are stretched or broken
