Question

Charged with pc 243 e 1 case was dismissed after 8 anger management classes did I lose my rights to buy firearms

Answer

Your case was dismissed, and evidently your anger is cured, so my best guess is you may buy firearms. You might want to do a self-background check via the Calif. Attorney General's office before you attempt any firearms purchases.

Answer

You lose your firearms rights for any felony conviction, some violent misdemeanor convictions, a domestic violence restraining order [which is usually part of cases like yours], a specific court order re firearms [also likely in your case], or commitment for psychiatric examination. As Mr. Stone suggested, and if you don't think any of those apply, you could go to any licensed gun dealer and request a 'non purchase' background check. In a week or so, DOJ will give you the answer to your question. Don't so much as touch a gun in that store, or elsewhere, unless you get an affirmative answer.
