Question

I file a small claims suit against someone. They counter-sue. The judge heard both sides and awarded me $800 and he awarded them $300. Will I be able to collect $800 or just the difference? Also, will they be able to pursue me for the $300 even when they haven't paid?

Answer

award will be separate and unrelated to each other. U should collect $800 and should pay $300

Answer

The judge should have offset the two judgments, so that you were awarded $500. Get and check a copy of the actual judgment.

Answer

I agree with Mr. Roach. But the judge may have made mistakenly failed to offset the judgments, in which case Mr. Dash's answer would be correct.
