If I am only one month behing on my rent (apatment lease), can my landlord begin eviction proceedings?



Answer

Yes. Rent is generally due on the 1st of the month (or whatever your lease provides), its late after 5 days. The landlord can then on the 6th day send a 10-day notice to quit/pay up. If you do not honor that then on the 11th day after your rent is due, the landlord can file for eviction.
