Could the oil sender unit make your car stop running?

Could the oil sender unit make your car stop running?
It is possible for a vehicle to have a safety feature that stops the engine when oil pressure is absent for an extended period of time. When you first start your car in the morning (if you get up in the morning to go to work), or immediately after an oil change, your engine experiences a few brief seconds of no oil pressure.Based on this, if the oil sender is causing the issue the vehicle SHOULD run, at least for a second or two before shutting down.
