Short story- Brother-in-law got into argument with neighbor. Goes to court, given ten days, then att. says no, lets fight as your are innocent. Next trial- the jury is hung. ( this is a misdemeanor charge), third time tried, judge gives him one year! Okay, b-i-l is disabled, is on a pain medicine pump, and has electrodes implanted in his back. The jail had to take him to the icu at a local hospital, there for 5 days, now jail is saying that time does not count toward his year, and they have also changed his intake date from the 8th of September to the 23rd of September, presumably because they had him in the infirmary at the jail. This is not considered being "incarcerated" in Stafford County. Who can I talk to about getting him on house arrest? His health has completely deteriorated in there and my sister is freaking out. There has to be some way or somebody to help this guy.

They can foreclose as quickly as a month in NH if you're in default on your mortgage, but it's not unusual for people to stay in there home for several months after they stop paying a mortgage, sometimes longer. Bankruptcy does extend the deadline somewhat because they have to get the permission of the bankruptcy court before foreclosing. The father of my unborn child is a pot head. I am two months away from giving birth, just graduated, and trying to start my career, and the father has not done anything for this child. He won't talk to me about this child, but after moving on and making my own plans for this child he has the gall to threaten to take me to court. He smokes pot a lot, his first child was taken by CPS, and he's had a lot of legal troubles. I really don't feel that he is seriously interested in this child, but I want to know what I need to do to protect myself from him. Second, the attorney can explain TX parental rights to you in person.

In order to be put on the birth certificate, DNA testing is usually required.

If he wants to have some "parental rights" then he needs to hire an attorney and file a lawsuit to establish is paternity. He will also be ordered to pay child support.

I hope that you are keeping copies of all of your pre-natal expenses, since a judge might order him to help pay for 1/2 of them. In Harris County, a judge ordered one man to pay 1/2 of the mother's pre-natal vitamins for example.

In the meantime, try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy. The baby deserves it.
