Can I buy a gun if I participated in deferred adjudication?
When I was 18 I was charged with 3 felonies:
Organized Crime
Money Laundering
Possession of a controlled substance.
I participated in deferred adjudication and finished all my probation without any issues, etc.
The case is now listed as "disposed" and the proceedings dismissed.
I want to know if I can legally purchase a gun since I was never technically convicted of a felony.
I know you can get in trouble if you fail the check when buying a gun, so I wanted to be sure before I attempt to get one.
Answer
Usually this is a problem if there is a finding of family violence.

Answer
You need to hire an attorney to attack the validity of the court order that says you are the father of a child or children. It appears that such an order must exist, since the state is unlikely to have pulled your name randomly from a phone book. Don't worry about suing anyone yet; figure out what the problem is and then solve it.
Which is faster a car or a motocycle?
Depends on the car and motorcycle. Often though, a motorcycle will have better acceleration and a car higher top speed.
Also, an automobile will tend to have far better cornering speed and traction, simply due to the greater amount of tire surface in contact with the road. But it all depends - a well tuned racing bike with special tires is probably faster and quicker all around than a 1962 Corvair.

The bad news is whether the creditor chooses to report or not is entirely their right. The only way to get them off your bureau would be if the info was false or old. However, if these are paid, then your loan underwriter may take that into consideration. But, I haven;t worked in mortgage loan origination in a long time, and their policies have all changed. Talk to your underwriter.

I have legal guardianship of my mom who has advanced alzheimer's. Is there any way to obtain power of attorney?
Answer
If you are the court-appointed legal guardian then you already have the type of authority and powers typically granted in a power of attorney. You should discuss your duties, powers and authority with your guardianship counsel.
Answer
Basic answer is you dion't need a power of attorney. You should just be able to show your "letters of office" to anyone who requires proof that you are your mother's legal guardian.
