Why is there acenter shock on a79 dirt bike?
The mono shock design removes the two outer shocks that were common on older dirt bikes. The design uses a larger, usually gas shock and sometimes a spring mounted to the frame and swing arm. Centralizing the shock reduces twisting of the frame and affords a smoother ride. It also gives less items to be snagged in a trail situation since the shock does not protrude. Some also allow the seat height to be adjusted for shorter or taller riders.
